Finals week:: is this for real? I’ll be graduating in just two days, hours before hopping on the plane to the Philippines. It’s crazy to think all that’s taken place to get here. I graduated high school solely because a teacher liked me and passed me even though I didn’t deserve it. On a whim, I turned in my Masters Commission application on the last day with my family thinking I was going into a cult (hilarious to us now). There I really met Jesus as He stripped off shame and gave me a purpose beyond myself. These 4.5 years in college haven’t been easy: I’ve worked harder than I knew possible with that purpose as my drive. In two days I’ll be leaving SPU with my undergrad in Individual and Family Development and Clothing and Textiles with a heart to see individuals freed, families restored, and God’s beauty expressed through creativity. This season has been a victory indeed. I am grateful!
